Buyers need more information - I can help

by Marilyn Balchan

The recent settlement by the National Association of Realtors and the new compliance requirement mandating that buyers sign a realtor agreement before touring properties can lead to significant confusion and reluctance among potential homebuyers. This change in procedure may be perceived as an additional hurdle, complicating what is already a complex and often stressful process. Buyers who are not familiar with the intricacies of real estate transactions might feel overwhelmed by this new step, fearing it could limit their flexibility or obligate them prematurely. Moreover, this requirement could deter some individuals from engaging with realtors altogether, as they might prefer to explore their options independently before committing to any formal agreements. Overall, while the intention behind these regulations is to ensure transparency and protect all parties involved, it is crucial for realtors to clearly communicate these changes and provide reassurance to their clients to alleviate any concerns and build trust.

I truly believe that this begins with conversation. At open houses, events, interactions, I always stress to buyers that I am available to talk without any obligation, that they can get to know me first, ask as many questions as they want, before we proceed to the necessary compliance documents prior to touring. Get comfortable and confirdent that they are making the right choice with me.
